BILLING POLICIES
-
You will
be billed for all time creating samples, revisions and
final site creation. Be decisive, organized and proactive about what
you want and it will speed up the job and cut costs. GET IT CHEAPER - A MUST READ TO CUT COSTS HERE .
-
I bill for communications by phone, email, snail mail and for in person consultations. I bill for travel time to your meeting place.
I bill for administrative
costs which includes dealing with the hosting and domain name companies and setting
up local and remote directories.
-
I bill future maintenance on a prorated hourly basis. I don't have a one hour minimum or monthly subscription rate for maintenance.
-
The delivery time
is treated as a ballpark time since there are many factors
that can change such as redesigning, lapse in communication
turnaround (this is the most common), hosting company delays,
poor artwork that requires lots of editing, poorly formatted
text that requires lots of editing, redesigning after we're
well into the project. Project delivery time is also affected
by other jobs before you.
-
I don't
do fixed estimates. All estimates are general estimates which
will and always change depending on many factors. We will discuss those changes as we go along
so that there are no surprises. Ask what this means before you start your project. Creative projects always go over budget.
-
I expect
to receive payment upon receipt of my invoice unless other
arrangements have been made.
-
I expect
a deposit of about a third of the estimate upfront which
is credited to the final invoice. Deposits are non-refundable.
-
I bill at 10 hour increments or any hours accumulated
on an open project within a 30 day period. Projects put on
hold will be invoiced.
-
I will report my
hours from time to time to let you know where we stand.
-
I don't charge for repairing my errors.
|
-
Your
website or changes are yours when funds have been cleared.
-
Since payment is due on receipt, I
reserve the right to take down your site or roll back
changes if payment is not received in a timely manner or if a check bounces.
-
If your check
bounces, I need to be reimbursed for all bank charges. Only
a cashiers check, money order or cash will then be accepted.
All website assets will be released upon full payment.
-
If you walk away from the project without
making payment in full, all site assets and changes are
forfeited, deleted or rolled back and the deposit is forfeited.
-
After all payments
are cleared, I will supply all artwork and source files to
you if you want. I know that many designers don't do this,
but I don't operate in this way. If you paid for it, it's
yours at no extra cost.
-
I don't offer
a warranty for the website or changes and I mean that in
some cases depending on various browsers or operating systems,
the site behaviors may work inconsistently or unexpectedly.
I can't guarantee perfect compatibility with all browsers,
operating systems or equipment. I will try my best. I
believe there might be some minor issues, but this is
the nature of the internet with the several browser versions
available to the public, various operating systems and
monitor settings.
-
Your browser settings
and plugins can also affect how you view your pages. If
java is disabled, many page characteristics could be
adversely affected.
-
Your monitor color,
brightness, contrast settings can dramatically affect the
colors you want to see. LCD and laptop monitors generally
have low quality output. If your monitor has a contrast ratio
of at least 700:1, you should generally be okay.
